Moonwatch Meeting

Sat on the steps of my turquoise blue gypsy van,
watching the moon,
looking for guidance. All was quiet and
still, perfect for thinking.
There is always a vague unease
on taking these new roads,
so thinking made sense, and the
moon good company.
The stones were in shadow,
except for a sliver of silver light.
The other travellers had been talking about
letting go of things, and this
made sense. "How could you
take hold of something new?", -- a
feint voice said nearby -- "if you
are still clutching the old?" I
looked around, curious, but
there was nothing to be seen,
just the night, the stars, and
the early moon. A pale shadow? A
shifting shape? Nothing. Yet
the words made sense. I got
my journal out to write, and
gather my thoughts, by
candle glow.
